Registration is non-cancelable and non-refundable. No exceptions.
Pre-registration is strongly advised
space
is limited! Registration on 1st morning cannot be guaranteed! Register
early
we will fill up fast! Call the Urban Jamm office at the
designated hotel one day prior to convention to verify space availability
for last minute registration.
All participants (additional teachers, assistant teachers
and students) must be pre-registered with your studio on an official
Urban Jamm registration form (photo copies and website forms acceptable)
and postmarked 40 days PRIOR to the convention date to
qualify for the Discounted Tuition and Teacher Special Discount
Scholarship students names must be included on registration
form along with a copy of the scholarship certificate
Students may change levels (at teachers discretion)
within the first two classes of the day. Additional charges will
occur for upgrades. No refunds for downgrades.
Designated Urban Jamm wristbands must be worn at all times.
Only those wearing wristbands will be allowed to participate and
enter ballrooms. Full tuition will be assessed for any wristbands
damaged or lost!
Convention
Confirmation
A postcard confirming the receipt of tuition will be sent immediately,
upon receipt of payment.
The complete confirmation packet including forms, class schedule,
and other information will be sent within 2 weeks of convention
date.
Registrations received 14 days or less before convention
may not be acknowledged with any confirmation information. Please
call to verify. Confirmation forms will also be sent
for individual registrations (not connected with a particular
school).
Please present your forms at the pre-registration desk for
admittance.
Chaperones
All dancers 15 years and under who are registered at the hotel must
be accompanied by a chaperone of legal age. We ask everyones
cooperation in respecting the privacy of other hotel guests and
all hotel property.
Scholarships
Over $100,000 awarded every year in scholarships.
All participants are welcome and encouraged to audition
(excluding one-day students, teachers, and professionals).
Scholarships are awarded for performance, technique, overall
attitude throughout convention, and attendance in all classes.
No student will be able to receive the same scholarship
that they won the previous year. They will be eligible for other
scholarships. Scholarship participants will audition according
to the level of classes they attended throughout the convention.
(Beginning, Intermediate or Advanced/Assistant Teacher.)

Free admission to another UJDC convention in the same city in which
it was awarded

Free admission to all UJDC conventions on the tour schedule for

Free tuition for up to 25 classes for 1 week at the Edge Performing
Arts Center in Los Angeles, Ca.

All scholarships are valid for up to 1 year from award date and may not be used for the SummerJamm National Finals. (NO EXTENSIONS - NO EXCEPTIONS)
Etiquette
and other Information
Smoking, food, alcohol and foul language is prohibited in ballrooms,
competition, dressing rooms, and backstage areas.
All participants are expected to use professional etiquette
in class and conduct themselves as ladies and gentlemen at all times.
Videotaping is strictly prohibited during
the entire convention.
Still photos are allowed.
Urban Jamm and the host facility are not responsible for
the loss of personal property and/or injuries.
All dancers must wear cover-ups outside of the ballrooms.
Excess noise or unacceptable behavior disrupting other hotel/convention
site guests may be cause for dismissal from the convention.
All dance bags and personal property must be kept against
the walls free and clear of the dance space as to avoid injuries.
Please
turn all cell phones and pagers off, or on silent tone at all
times during the convention!
